How to Make a Memoji on iPhone or Android

Apple aims to make its smartphones more helpful by releasing new features regularly. Memoji and Animoji are two examples of similar functionality. Animals, skulls, ghosts, and excrement are among the key themes used in Animoji item icons. Memoji, derived from the word “me,” expands on the Animoji capabilities by allowing you to build avatars that look like you or somebody you know.

You have complete control over what your friends and contacts see when interacting with you using Animoji and Memoji. Memoji and Animoji are often utilized as stickers or movies in Messages and FaceTime conversations, and third-party applications and messengers. Here's how you can make your own Memoji.

How do you make a Memoji?

It’s enjoyable and straightforward to make your own Memoji. You may create a Memoji that looks exactly like you or in any way you like. You may also make Memoji with your buddies. Here’s how to get going.

  • On your iPhone or iPad, open the Messages app.
  • At the upper right of the screen, tap the New Message icon.
  • Tap the App Store icon to expose the app tray if you don't see it below the message bar.
  • The three-headed Stickers symbol should be selected.

  • Open the Messages application.

Memoji may be used in iMessage and FaceTime to give your chats more personality. To take things to the next level, combine Memoji with camera effects.


  • Open the message in which you'd want to include a Memoji.
  • To use the Animoji functionality, tap the Monkey symbol.
  • Swipe left till your Memoji appears. Take a look at your iOS device.
  • To begin recording your message, tap the red record symbol (red circle). To stop the recording, press the red square stop symbol. You have up to 30 seconds to record.
  • Touch on the Memoji you want to use to utilize a different Memoji you've prepared with the same voice recording.
  • You can also use the Memoji to make iMessage stickers by touching and holding them. Then bring it up in the discussion. With the introduction of iOS 13 and Memoji sticker packs, this function is now accessible for earlier iPhones.


  • Make a call using the FaceTime app.
  • Tap the star symbol to open camera effects when the call starts.
  • Select the Memoji you'd want to utilize.
  • Tap the X symbol to delete the Memoji or return to the FaceTime menu.

Memoji on Android: How to Use It

Android users may now utilize Memoji-like capabilities on their phones. Samsung made its version called “AR Emoji” if you use a new Samsung handset (S9 and subsequent variants).
